Refund Policy

Effective Date: August 1st, 2025

This Refund Policy (“Policy”) governs all donations, contributions, event participation, and related transactions with Simorgh Bridge Foundation (“the Foundation”, “we”, “our”, or “us”). By making a donation, registering for an event, or engaging in any financial transaction with the Foundation, you acknowledge and agree to the terms set forth below.

The Foundation is a federally incorporated nonprofit organization in Canada and operates in accordance with applicable federal and provincial laws, including the Canada Not-for-profit Corporations Act and, where applicable, the Income Tax Act and Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

1. Donations
1.1 Voluntary and Non-Refundable
  • All monetary donations are final and non-refundable, except in the event of a verifiable processing error or as otherwise required by Canadian law.

  • Refunds will not be issued due to donor change of mind, dissatisfaction with the use of funds, or disagreement with the Foundation’s activities or mission.

1.2 Cancellation of Monthly (Recurring) Donations
  • Donors may cancel their monthly or recurring donation commitments at any time, provided that the cancellation request is received at least 5 business days before the next scheduled withdrawal date.

  • Funds that have already been processed and withdrawn prior to the cancellation date are non-refundable.

  • Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing via email to finance@simorghbridge.org or through online tools provided by the Foundation.

1.3 Tax Receipts
  • The Foundation will issue official donation receipts in accordance with Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) requirements if and when the Foundation obtains registered charity status.

  • Once a donation receipt has been issued, refunds cannot be processed unless required by law, as such refunds may invalidate the receipt.

1.4 Donor Responsibility
  • Donors are solely responsible for ensuring the accuracy of donation amounts, payment details, and any restrictions or designations placed on their contributions.

  • While the Foundation will make reasonable efforts to honour restricted donations, it reserves the right to reallocate funds to other programs or purposes in furtherance of its mission, should it determine such reallocation to be in the best interest of the organization.

2. Event Registrations and Participation
2.1 Non-Refundable Registrations
  • All event registrations, tickets, and participation fees are non-refundable, except in the event of full cancellation by the Foundation without an alternative date or venue.

  • If an event is rescheduled or relocated, all registrations will be automatically transferred to the new date or venue. No refunds will be issued in such cases.

2.2 Participant Responsibility
  • The Foundation is not liable for participant inability to attend for any reason, including illness, travel disruptions, or personal scheduling conflicts.

  • Participants must comply with all event rules, health and safety guidelines, and applicable laws. The Foundation reserves the right to refuse or revoke entry without refund if a participant’s behaviour is disruptive, unsafe, or in violation of the rules.

3. Merchandise Sales
3.1 Final Sale
  • All merchandise sales are final unless the item is defective, damaged, or incorrectly fulfilled.

3.2 Return Process
  • Claims for defective or incorrect merchandise must be made within 14 days of receipt. Approved returns will be exchanged or refunded at the Foundation’s discretion. Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the purchaser unless the error was made by the Foundation.

4. Duplicate or Unauthorized Transactions
4.1 Error Correction
  • In the event of duplicate donations, unauthorized charges, or other processing errors, donors must notify the Foundation within 7 days of the transaction.

  • Verified cases will be refunded in full to the original payment method.

5. Force Majeure
5.1 No Obligation in Certain Circumstances
  • The Foundation is not obligated to provide refunds or compensation for cancellations, delays, or disruptions caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including (but not limited to) natural disasters, pandemics, acts of government, labour disputes, technical failures, or other force majeure events.

6. Limitation of Liability
6.1 Extent of Liability
  • To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Foundation, its directors, officers, employees, and volunteers shall not be liable for any loss, damage, cost, or expense—whether direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive—arising from or related to donations, event participation, or other transactions.

7. Amendments to This Policy

7.1 Right to Modify
  • The Foundation reserves the right to amend this Policy at any time, without prior notice, in order to reflect changes in operations, law, or best practices. Updates will be posted on our website with the revised effective date.
